About Us
Vikas Samvad is a community initiative, a group dedicated to social research, training, documentation, and advocacy. The goal is to understand and analyse social issues from the perspective of society and human values. These issues are debated based on the criteria of thought, value, fact and evidence. The group is engaged in study, analysis and content preparation. Continuously engaging in dialogue with social activists and communicators is both an ideological and practical policy.
Vikas Samvad has prepared nearly 20,000 pages of content and made them available on open platforms “for everyone’s use.” Over 250 info packs addressing core social-economic-political issues of society have been created with a particular vision and perspective. For 16 years, the fellowship process on social concerns and Constitutional values has been ongoing, with over 125 communicators joining so far. More than 100 books have been published. Thought, analysis, dialogue, and learning are the four dimensions of Vikas Samvad’s culture.
In collaboration with the government, fieldwork manuals for social leadership curriculum have been prepared and the group has played a committed role in formulating state policies for a well-nourished society.
The Strategic Communication Centre is an initiative of Vikas Samvad, where we are continuously working on enhancing the communication and dialogue skills of social organisations through learning and training initiatives. We have developed various training programmes, modules, manuals, and handouts related to communication and have also formed a group of thirty trainers. Vikas Samvad has organised 33 training programmes with partners from social organisations across various states in the country so far. The training is fully based on participation and the principles and practices of the institutions.
